Personalități și instituții implicate în ridicarea Bisericii noastre la rangul de Patriarhie

In the year of salvation 2025, the Romanian Orthodox Church solemnly and eucharistically celebrates the Centenary of the Romanian Patriarchate. On this blessed occasion, we recall with profound gratitude our predecessors who laid the foundations and guided the Church of Christ in Romania over the course of nearly two millennia, as well as those who, a century ago, accomplished the elevation of our Church to the rank of Patriarchate. This significant endeavour involved both prominent figures, clergy and lay faithful alike, as well as the institutions of the Romanian State, namely the government, the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies, as well as King Ferdinand I. The attainment of patriarchal status, already held by other sister Churches, was long awaited, natural and well deserved. It represented a recognition of the fundamental role played by the Romanian Orthodox Church both within the life of the nation and within the communion of Universal Orthodoxy.
