Sfânta Mănăstire Sângeap-Basaraba. Repere istorice și liturgice
The unwritten history of the Sângeap Monastery, as an old Moldavian foundation, is brought to the general public’s attention at the end of the 20th century, with the occasion of a summary study, in which the priest Iustin Gaspar from Harlau brings to the collective memory the existence of a monastery in the immediate vicinity of the town of Harlau. Years after, the idea is brought up again by the priest Dumitru Tincu who, with the blessing of the Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bukovina, lays the foundation stone for the restoration of the worship place, in the vicinity of the initial one. The actual study presents in a systematic and objective manner the main historical arguments and hypotheses regarding the existence of the Sangeap Monastery and, in a concise format, the development of the monastic activity in the Sangeap Basaraba Monastery.
