Aspecte dogmatice ale hristologiei Sfântului Marcu Ascetul — comentariu teologic
In this dogmatic research, the author, Conf. Dr. Vasile Cristescu
analyses the Christology of Saint Mark the Hermit and its implications
in the theology of the Church. Saint Mark fought against
the heresies of the Church, especially the Nestorian theology that
separated the natures of Christ in such a manner that it stated two
persons of Christ. Saint Mark affirms the unity of the two natures
in the unique person of Christ, and the fundamental importance
of this union for the salvation of humankind. If the divinity
of Christ is separated by His human nature, the human being is
condemned to eternal death. It is saved only what is assumed and
united with His divinity. The theology of Saint Mark the Hermit is
one of extreme importance in the theological and dogmatic expression
of the Church of Christ. The research contains also the
translation from Ancient Greek of the treaty of Saint Mark: “Against
those that say that the Holy Body of Christ is not united with the
Logos, but he is clothed as with a vestment…”
