Nevoi spirituale în contextul îngrijirilor paliative în România
Palliative care represents a type of medical care which aims to support the life quality of patients and their families when they are facing a life threatening illness. Life quality would be something unattainable if the care provided did not aim for supporting a human person in their both body and soul. The holistic principle of palliative care responds to this aim through its four fold approach which gives attention to physical needs, social needs, psychological needs as well as spiritual needs. Establishing what the spiritual needs are within the palliative care system of Romania is a necessary process deemed to inform recommandations and appropriate actions to be taken in order to provide an appropriate support for patients and a valid system of reference for the medical staff who work in this field.
