In his works, Father Dumitru Stăniloae emphasizes that God is communicating through natural revelation (indirect way), but also through supranatural revelation (in a direct and personal way), in order to be in communion with human being. Revelation is communicated through Christ, in Holy Spirit, with the aim of realizing the communion in Church. Church is understood as the dialogue of Christ with people through Scripture (divine-human means of communication and communion) and Tradition (permanent dialogue of Church with Christ). Theology has an apophatic character being a mystery beyond words, a mystery that can be experienced personally and valued in Church.
