The author of this theological and historical research “The Incineration
in the Orthodox Faith”, Rev. Dr. Adrian Zaharia, presents
and analyses the issue of incineration in the history of human
culture. After a short historical incurssion into this practice, the
author shows the controversies over this issue, and presents the
attitude of the Orthodox Church in this matter. The author concludes
with the fundamental opposition of the Christian Church
to incineration as a destruction of the human body that will rise
again at the end of the history.
