Semnificațiile imaginilor din vechiul baptisteriu de la Dura Europos, în contextul apariției artei creștine
5 Aprilie 2012
A good evidence of the beginnings of Christian art is the painting
of the baptistery at Dura Europos, like the symbols and images
found in the catacombs of Rome. The Christian doctrine contained
in the ordinance of Baptism was argued by images painted
on the Baptistery and emphasized the salvation, the redemption
given through the ministry of Christ the Savior. The Christians from
Dura Europos have embellished their worship place with religious
images from biblical inspiration, honoring them without to
turn this act of worship in a pagan rite.
