Kutia in commemoration of the dead, or the ceremony of the alms made to commemorate the departed
A particularly interesting ceremony in the evolution of liturgical structures related to the commemoration of the departed, which was not mentioned in any writings here, and which might be considered both a „reminiscence" of old liturgical customs (the „joint" commemoration of the Martyrs and the departed), and an already „new" liturgical custom, having a special meaning, is the so called „kutia in the commemoration of the departed" (meaning „the ceremony of the alms which is made in commemoration of the departed"). The ceremony of the „kutia in commemoration of the departed" can be seen also as a „shortening" of the so called „Church service for the blessing of the alms of the departed" from the old time, which was documented by some of the manuscripts.
