The Collection Patrologia Orientalis. Historic and a brief overview of the component volumes of collection (I)

In the series of patristic collections in the Western space, the Patrologia Orientalis (PO) occupies a very special place. The collection has its beginning in 1904 as a continuation of another collection entitled suggestive Patrology Syriac, where only two volumes were published. In 1897, the Congress of Oriental Studies held in Paris has announced the intention to publish a number of works from various oriental languages (Arabic, Coptic, Ethiopian, Greek and Syriac) in one collection, under the name of Patrologia Orientalis. This present study tries to present in Romanian space the first 13 volumes of this collection, and a brief evaluation of them.
