Biblical and Textual Dependencies in the Ephremian Lamentations

If in the liturgical space, Saint Deacon Ephrem the Siryan is known for the prayer spoken with predilection during the triodal period, for daily ʻuseʼ he offers the faithful the eight cries, which have an eminently penitential character. The present study has as its main perspective the identification of dependencies of a biblical nature, as well as textual ones. We will try to see, therefore, if these works are truly original or if they are later compilations from other (even) Ephraimian works.
