The Personality of Professor Vasile Gheorghe Ispir

The study highlights some inedited aspects regarding the life, activity and work of Professor Vasile G. Ispir (1886-1947), the first doctor in theology of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Bucharest and the first professor of the chair of missiology within the same Faculty. Professor Vasile G. Ispir was a remarkable theoretician and a perfect practitioner of the mission, being one of the first Romanian Orthodox ecumenists in the modern sense of the term. Among the most important achievements of Professor Vasile G. Ispir we mention the Orthodox Missionary Association (AMO), the Sunday School, the Missionary Guidance Institute, and the periodical Christian Mission. Journal of culture and social spirituality
